Of course no one final decision will be taken according to this pool results only. But anyway I will know better what the members want and then we all may decide.
ND, from my point of view, there is no much sense in evaluating all EAs which are presented in the commercial section. By doing this, you are going to take a lot of work and a lot of responsibility and therefore could become deeply involved into a number of potential conflicts. Many people especially novice traders just don’t want to realize that IT IS ONLY THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO ACHIEVE PROFITABLE RESULTS IN TRADING. Many people don’t want to realize that there are no warranties for successful trading. Many people tend to ignore the very simple truth that:

Quote:
TRADING FOREX IS RISKY. PAST PERFORMANCE IS NO GUARANTEE OF FUTURE PERFORMANCE. TRADE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
This is especially important when we speak about EAs. Profitable backtests DO NOT necessarily guarantee profitable performance. For a number of EAs, profitable demos trading DO NOT necessarily guarantee profitable live trading with real money. For a number of EAs, real performance could be quite different when using different brokers. Short period of profitable EA trading IS NO GUARANTEE of future profitable performance. This is especially true for some EAs with multiple parameters which were overoptimized to fit historical data. Such EA could be very profitable but only for a very limited time.

This is not to say that there are no profitable EAs, this is just to indicate that there are NO ROBUST WARRANTIES.

Finally, there are a lot of dishonest people trying to make many on naive beliefs of novice traders. However, unfortunately, it is impossible to protect everybody from such scammers especially when a lot of novice traders actually want to be fooled by accepting some fantastic and unreliable claims and expectations.

From my point of view, the only way to decrease a number of fooled people, is to educate them by creating some kind of MUST READ sticky thread in the commercial section where some necessary information about buying EAs is given. This section should explain in more details what are EAs in general and what and what people should not expect from EAs may be including some info that I already mentioned. Next, this thread should include helpful recommendations to potential buyers and sellers about EA evaluation. It should also include the disclaimer that forum administration is by no way responsible for any claims provided by sellers, that trading forex is risky, and that a person should accept responsibility for his or her choices and trading results. In addition, it should be indicated that there is always a chance that some dishonest people would try to take buyer’s money for some junk or some EAs that are freely available at forex forums. While some useful recommendations could somehow protect potential victims, it is impossible to protect everybody under all available circumstances and people who are buying EAs must accept this simple truth. If they don’t, the only way for them to avoid such risk is to invest their money into some well-known systems available elsewhere.

Last by not least. The start of any new thread in the commercial section should be accompanied with the link to the above-mentioned MUST READ thread. Perhaps, this could be moderator’s job to give the last chance of some minimum education and protection to some people who managed to miss this MUST READ section.

Any threads from proven scammers should be either deleted or placed into some kind of special scammer section (like it is done on alpari forum) and scammers should be banned.

Sorry for such a long post.

Just my two cents.
