I had a feeling that that would get a reaction from a self-righteous few!
You don't specifically claim to be one of the
"proper professional coders" yourself, but if you consider yourself such and in the same breath claim you became one without learning from others code, then you are a liar! Copy & Paste is one of the very first steps in becoming a proficient coder, and if you were one you would know that! Though I have been coding for many years, I certainly don't consider myself a professional, but having examined probably a few hundred publically available EA/indicators (again, this is called
learning) I know my coding can stand on its own - no great achievement considering that most of them are crap!
So, once again, what is it that Mr Boatright is being accused of here? At worst, he has renamed an ancient piece of code - code that is
public domain! Given the ludricous line of reasoning that seems to exist here, anyone who has the audacity to include code that is in the public domain, in a commercial EA, is a charlatan - does this mean that the likes of Elders and Demark must also be consulted before their public-domain offerings are used???
This is getting ridiculous...
