Just look at the price action of the Bund on minute/hour/daily charts to get a feeling for its volatility. Remember that one tick= 10.00€...so with a margin of 300 $...let's say for simplicity's sake that's 200 € = 20 ticks...there's not much room for error. If you get caught in a news spike, your account is gone in a matter of seconds. Obviously, Igor doesn't do that. If you look at IGor's account balance of ca. 500k and divide this by the maximum number of Bund contracts he held at once that day, i.e. 15 contracts..you arrive at roughly 30000 € per contract. For me personally, even a margin of 1000 € would be too low.
